Assemble the Tags

Tough farm conditions may cause wear to the AfiCollar strap. It is possible for users to order and replace damaged straps independently.

Follow the steps below to correctly assemble the AfiCollar parts on a new belt.

Before assembling the AfiCollar with a new strap, make sure all the parts are removed from the damaged strap; save the parts so they are available for re-assembly on the new strap.

To assemble the AfiCollar:

  1. Place the collar strap with the short edge facing downward.

  1. Thread the parts onto the collar strap in the following order:

    1. Strap keeper.

    2. Oval loop.

    3. Weight.

  1. Thread the collar strap through the oval loop.


  1. Thread the collar strap through the lower hatch of the AfiCollar.

    Note: Make sure the AfiCollar facing out.

  1. Thread the collar strap through the upper hatch of the AfiCollar.

    Note: The last hole of the collar belt should sit in the middle of the top and bottom hatches.

  1. Thread the collar strap through the locking hatch.

  1. Ensure the tag sits opposite the buckle.

Tags may be removed from one animal and then assigned to another. The orange strap on the tag is cut and discarded when it is remove from a cow.

It is the users responsibility to correctly assemble the tag on a new strap before it is attached to the cow.

To assemble the leg tags:

  1. Make sure the strap and tag point upwards.

  2. Insert the strap through the back of the tag.

  3. Pull the strap all the way to the end.
