Milking Irregularities Report and Graph

Milking irregularities are non-standard events during milking. It includes all events that required the intervention of the milker, after the cluster was attached.

Cows milked in a non-stressful environment should not hold up milk, kick the cluster, nor need any assistance.

Analyze milking irregularities to identify unnecessary stress inflicted on the animals or other causes that interfere with their ease of milking.

Note: Irregularities are the result of changes in the cows' behavior during milking. These changes could be caused by untrained milkers, changes in the milking procedure, or equipment malfunction.

Understand the Detailed Report

The detailed report displays the following data:

Indicator

Description

Date

Date for data. By default, data is displayed for the last 24 hours, but it may be extracted also for longer periods.

Session

Milking session 1= morning

Milking session 2 = noon

Milking session 3 = evening/night

Milked Cows

Displays the number of cows milked during the session (identified and unidentified cows).

Multiple Attachments

Number of milked cows for which the cluster was attached more than once.

Note: Many multiple attachments, where the majority were not considered "Unnecessary attachments" indicates the milkers proceeded correctly by reattaching the clusters; however, it may also indicate and issue with the Cluster Removal Parameters.

Unnecessary Attachments

Checks whether the last of the multiple attachments was justified. If the amount of milk harvested during the last attachment is below 1kg (2.2lb) the attachment is considered unnecessary.

Warning: Many, unnecessary attachments is an indication the milkers are over-milking the cows.

Irregular Take Off

Displays the number of milked cows for which the cluster was not removed automatically by the machine. Manual milking (when Cancel ACR was activated), manual removal, and multiple attachments are listed under this category.

Kick off

Displays the number of cows that stopped milking prior to achieving their expected yield and that had high milk flow (more than 1kg/minute) before the removal of the cluster.

Milked OK

Displays the number of milking cows NOT included in the three categories above.

AMT

4-6

Displays the number of milked cows with AMT 4-6 minutes.

6-8

Displays the number of milked cows with AMT 6-8 minutes.

8-10

Displays the number of milked cows with AMT 8-10 minutes.

10+

Displays the number of milked cows with AMT of more than 10 minutes.

Low flow time removal

The timing for automatic removal of the cluster is set in the milk-meter. When removal is delayed it results in longer time having low milk flow at the end of milking. It is highly recommended to minimize the overall time of low flow.
