Dispense Daily Allowance

Each animal receives her Daily Allowance as follows:

  • Graphical user interface Description automatically generated Feeder - The feeder dispenses feed at a predefined rate and in predefined amounts. Feeder motors are defined per their dispense rate. AfiFeed operates the following types of feed motors:

    • Screws/pumps – motor turns on for a defined amount of time.

    • Pulses – motor dispenses a defined amount in each pulse followed by a pause.

    This restricts the actual dispense rate to the animal's eating rate.

  • Stall - A stall consists of an area that contains one feeder and is wide enough for one cow. The cow approaches the stall, where the system identifies her via her tag. The stall can contain up to eight different types of Feed Type.

  • Graphical user interface, text, application, Word Description automatically generatedFeed Type - The cow menu can be created using one or several ingredients. Each ingredient, called a feed type, is stored in a separate silo. The feeding program defines the amount of each feed type allocated to the animal. The program mixes the feed when it is dispensed.
