Feeders Malfunctions Report
Individual feeders in the yard or pen are crucial for supporting animal diet. Faulty feeders quickly impact cows' production and health; therefore, each fault detected must be remedied immediately.
The Feeders Malfunction report evaluates each feeder's performance for the last completed feed session (displayed in the upper section of the report). The lower section of the report displays the selected feeder's status for the last 5 days.
Red - Indicates a fault in the most recently ended session.
Yellow - Indicates faults that occurred in one of the previous sessions, but not the last sessions that ended.
Green - Indicates no faults occurred.
The upper table in the report indicates the following for each feeder in the selected site:
Column |
Description |
---|---|
Feeder |
Displays the name/number of the feeding stall. Each line in the report represents a Feeder in the site. |
Cows Fed Last Session |
Displays the total number of feed visits to the feeder during the last finished session. The number of cows that approached the feeder may be used as a comparison to other feeders in the yard. A reduction in the number of cows served by a feeder may suggest a problem with the feeder location (for example, exposed to direct sun) or that the feeder stopped dispensing feed and cows have refrained from approaching it. |
Feed Dispensed |
Displays the total weight of all feed types dispensed in the stall during the last session. The value is displayed in either kg or lbs. The overall feed dispensed by the feeder may be another indication supporting the problems mentioned above. |
Photocell Fault |
Displays fault icon if the photocell is closed for more than 45 minutes continuously. This may have occurred more than once during the session and means that the device is not aligned with its reflector OR the photocell eye or reflector are dirty Warning: Feed is not dispensed! |
Antenna Fault |
Displays fault icon if there are more than 4 faulty ID visits during the last session, usually indicating a faulty antenna. Call Afimilk support. |
Visits Fault |
The system calculates the number of cows visiting the feed stall and alerts if this number is reduced compared to previous sessions/days. A fault under this category is a strong probability that the feeder is not functional. |
